Semester 2 Goals

Throughout the past semester I have learned a lot of things both artistically and academically. I learned how to sculpt a face out of clay, and that it is a lot harder than I thought. I also learned how to carve a flower into clay. The process ended up being a lot different than I originally assumed. Academically, I learned not to procrastinate. As finals came closer, I made the mistake of putting off my final until the very last minute, thinking I had more time. I have learned from my mistakes, and this semester I will do my final as soon as I know what it is so that I can make sure I put as much time and effort into it as needed.

As for this new semester, there are lots of new things I would like to learn. For starters, I would like to learn how to be more patient. A lot of times I start a project that I am really excited for, but end up getting impatient and rush the project. So I want to try and focus on one project at a time. I also want to learn how to make an even mug, I have made a couple mugs this year and have had a difficult time getting the size right, so that is something I also would like to learn. Lastly, I want to learn different types of sculpting, like how I did in semester one. I really love getting to try different styles of art, so I am excited to learn more.
